Thuật lại câu hỏi Yes/No bằng asked + if/whether + chủ ngữ + động từ theo trật tự câu kể. Khi yêu cầu lùi thì, hiện tại đơn chuyển quá khứ đơn.
💡 Khi kể lại câu hỏi có hoặc không, dùng asked rồi if hoặc whether, đặt người hoặc vật trước động từ. Ví dụ, hỏi sinh vật có bay không thì đổi does … fly thành flew khi kể lại.

⚠️ Không giữ does trong câu hỏi gián tiếp: không viết whether did the creature fly. Không dùng that thay if/whether để tường thuật câu hỏi Yes/No.
Reported Wh-questions
Giữ từ hỏi what/where/why/how... rồi dùng chủ ngữ + động từ, không đảo trợ động từ.
💡 Khi kể lại câu hỏi ở đâu, cái gì, vì sao…, giữ từ hỏi rồi đặt người hoặc vật trước động từ. Ví dụ, câu hỏi hồ ở đâu: where is the lake đổi thành where the lake was.

⚠️ Không viết asked where was the lake; câu gián tiếp dùng trật tự câu kể và thường kết thúc bằng dấu chấm.
Reported questions: pronouns and backshift
Đổi đại từ theo người nói/nghe. Khi thực hiện lùi thì với asked ở quá khứ, am/is/are → was/were, can → could; không đổi máy móc từ chỉ nơi/thời gian nếu ngữ cảnh không đổi.
💡 Khi kể lại lời hỏi, đổi từ xưng hô cho đúng người; can thường đổi thành could. Ví dụ, Lan hỏi tôi: you thành I, my planet thành her planet; sau could vẫn dùng describe.

⚠️ You là người được hỏi nên thành I trong lời tôi thuật lại; my của Lan thành her. Giữ nguyên mẫu describe sau could.
